Water baptism is public, symbolic demonstration of a person’s belief in and union with Christ. It signifies that we have turned from our former way of living life apart from God, and have committed to walk as a new creation in Christ. Baptism is for the individual who has personally decided to place their faith in Christ and has received the saving benefits of Christ’s atoning work and has become His disciple. Therefore, in obedience to Christ’s command and as a testimony to God, the church, oneself and the world, a believer should be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Bridgton Alliance Church teaches and practices “believer’s baptism" by immersion which is most symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord.
Before your baptism, Pastor Mike and the Elders would like to meet with you to answer your questions and discuss the biblical significance of baptism. We will also cover several frequently asked questions, all logistical details of a baptism service and take the opportunity to talk with you about your journey that has brought you to this place in life. Please contact the church office at 207-647-2027 to set up a meeting with Pastor Mike and the Elders.
